topshop14 from catwalk to closet

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that Topshop online is getting better and better? I was first impressed with the feature that allowed customers to buy entire outfits from the Oxford Street store windows. Now Topshop is giving us the chance to see how the lovely ladies who work in the Head Office are wearing garments from the AW10 collection in a feature called ‘From Catwalk to Closet‘. I think it’s pretty cool to see behind-the-scenes of my favourite brands, and Topshop are really allowing their loyal followers to have a sneak into their world. If you are interested in this, you really must see their blog, where recently they have been posting about the build up to the unique SS11 collection – exciting stuff!

staycoolcushion1 stay cool and chill out

With just 5 days left until I move back to Huddersfield to complete my fashion degree, I am starting to think about how to personalise my bedroom in the student halls. I love this part of September, filling my room with thrifted nik naks and photographs of friends from home.

This weekend my sister moved to Blackpool for her first year studying Photography. She picked up this quirky cushion for her new room from than none other than her local Primark store, for a bargainous £3.00! I think I’ll be heading there myself this week to bag this cushion for myself too; I’m sure the ‘STAY COOL AND CHILL OUT’ mantra will help get me through the stressful year ahead!

urbanoutfittersshoep1 and thats my autumn footwear sorted

When it comes to that age old question of ’shoe or bag person?’, for me it has to be shoe every time. I’ve been searching for the perfect Autumn shoe for a couple of weeks now, and yesterday I found them. Although I love a good brogue as much as the next girl, I feel they just don’t look right on the end of my stumpy legs.

I wanted something as androgynous in design as a brogue along with its vintage charm, but with a small heel that would be comfortable enough to wear for a full day in the studio at University. I spotted this pair in Manchester Urban Outfitters store and at a reasonable £32, they had to be mine. If these have tickled your fancy you can get a pair for yourself here.

shoe21 Quilted Beauties

Just had to show you these beauties I picked up in my local New Look store yesterday afternoon. Quilted, studded and grey suedette. They fit perfectly and give me those vital inches needed for a shortie like myself. Oh, did I mention they were just three English Pounds! Surprisingly they had quite a few pairs left so I grabbed my size before any other bargainistas could get their hands on them and a sneaky second pair for my Mum. She loved them too!

cable knits copy time to bring out the jumpers

This morning I headed into town in search of some charity shop bargains and decided today was the day to embrace the trend I’ve been waiting to wear all summer long; cable knits! Ever since I saw the coverage of the AW10 catwalk shows, I knew this was one style I would definitely be wanting to try out. Luckily for me, I managed to get this cropped jumper for free from whilst on my placement (great perk of the job..!) but I saw numerous styles on the high street today including the ones above from Topshop and Miss Selfridge. Aran stitches, cables and bobbles galore!

I’m curious to know what AW10 styles you’ll be trying out over the next few months?

necklace fabulous friday finds

A bargainous Friday afternoon purchase, just £1.50 each from Primark. I love the little poodle and Eiffel Tower! I really like wearing tonnes of delicate necklaces all at the same time, the downside is that they usually get tangled up!

Hope you all have a fabulous Friday night whatever you’re up to! I’m taking the boy out for a slap up birthday meal, only dilemma now is what to wear…
